This year's MOTTO for the Sommerfest is
the mushrooms, called Schwammer'l in
Bavaria. Last year we brought more wild
forest mushrooms to North Texas than any
year before - and served them while they
are fresh and tastes best. This is the
favorite time of the year for the lovers
of the "Schwammer'l". And this year's
season will last only until the
beginning of Oktoberfest in 75 days. So,

Original German Style lager brewed in a
two tank system following German
guidelines of aging. Light Golden Color.
Fresh, smooth, lightly hoped, with a
nicely balanced malt sweetness,

Franconia Weizen

Bavarian Style Wheat Beer. This beer is
very popular in particular in southern
Germany. Using an original German yeast
strain in the brewing process
contributes to the natural fruity flavor
of Banana, Orange and Cloves, giving it
a outstanding refreshing taste. Of
course this Wheat Beer comes unfiltered
leaving all the natural goodness in it.
The Name Franconia was chosen for
several different reasons.
First off, Franconia translates to
Franken in German, a small region with
in Germany having the largest number of
breweries per population ratio in the
world. Franken also being the birth
place of our brew master Dennis Wehrmann.
A second special reason is to carry on
the family brewery name of Franken Braeu
being Franconia Brewing.

great treasure with us!

entry for the quiz!! Too many
things to do with the kids home for
summer.
I am 100% sure it is the fountains
at the Konigsschloss Linderhof. I
look at a photo of me taken there
every day of my life! This is where
my husband, Eric and I honeymooned
in Sept 1988 over TWENTY ONE years
ago. It is a photo taken on a
beautiful day at a beautiful
place and is such a beautiful
memory!! In the evening we went to
the Oktoberfest in Munich. We have
returned with our children and tried
to recreate the photo including
them.
Now I need a bier!

Sommer Spiessbraten Dinner -
This popular dinner features a juicy pork
roast rubbed with special herbs and spices,
it comes with pretzel rolls and Krautsalat,
the Bavarian cole slaw. The Franziskaner
brewery will match this special dinner with
two choices of their famous wheat bier $
29.75 or $24.75 for Stein Club members. An
ambassador will talk briefly about the
history of the brewery and the Bier.

Our August meeting on the 12th will feature
a guest appearance of Julie, our new Spaten
ambassador. She comes with the story of the
brewing history and we are going to enjoy
samples of the different styles.
Regular Stein Club meetings are scheduled on
the second Wednesday night of every even

Bavarian Bier Seminars are scheduled on the
second Wednesday night of every odd month..
