Meet the new Stein Club Officers

The Bayern Stein Club’s new leadership team is making plans to build on the accomplishments of  the past while also leading the club down some new paths.

Elected at December’s annual Christmas Party were Phillip Walden, president; Elke Nutterfield, vice president; Gary Coats, secretary; Eddie Rose, director of special events; and Floyd Wood, editor. Only Eddie has previously served as a club officer.

Phillip, a Stein Club member for eight years, is retired from Intervoice where he was vice president for manufacturing and facilities. Elke became a Stein Club member in 2000. As owner and founder of Elke Originals, she designs, manufactures and sells handbags. Gary finished his first card to become a Stein Club member about five years ago. He is a retired systems engineer from Raytheon in Garland. Eddie previously served as Stein Club activities director and has been member about 10 years. He is circulation and marketing director for “Inside Collin County Business.” Floyd, also a 10-year club member, is retired from the American Heart Association where he was a senior writer/editor in the office of communications.

These five officers in addition to Past Presidents Bo Fedolak and Tom Anderson will serve as the club’s board of directors.

Phillip’s vision for the club is four-fold. He hopes to increase member participation, continue the club’s tradition of giving back to the community through various projects; help ensure continued success of the Bavarian Grill; and increase the fun factor for club members. More information how these goals can be accomplished will be provided in upcoming communications with club members.

The Bayern Stein Club’s combination Holiday Food and Toy Drive
was the most successful in our history!

The amount of food contributed to God’s Food Pantry in Plano was three times greater than in past club efforts. And for the first time a load of toys was also delivered to the Plano Police Association for distribution to needy children through its Toys from Christmas Cops program.

“Stein Club members and other guests of the Bavarian Grill really did a good job in helping to make this past holiday season more joyous for many families in the Plano area. Thank you to all who supported this important effort!” said Tom Anderson, immediate past president, who led the effort.

Gruenkohl Dinner on Wednesday, January 18th, 2006

It’s January when Bayern Stein Club members and guests traditionally enjoy a delicious dinner from Northern Germany that features kale and pork simmered with onions for hours in a large kettle. Add a serving of boiled potatoes and a good German Bier, and you have a winter-time treat that’s also a favorite of Germans living near the Baltic Sea.

The annual Gruenkohl dinner is planned for 7 p.m. January 18th. The price is $ 24.75 for club members and $ 29.75 for guests. Also included are two Pilsner style Biers.

For reservations, contact the Bavarian Grill at 972-881-0705.
