Neueste Nachrichten vom Stein Club Oktoberfest Dinner To Launch September FestivitiesWHO: Bayern Stein Club members and guests WHAT: September Bi-Monthly Dinner WHEN: 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13 WHERE: Biergarten, Bavarian Grill Just a few days before the official opening of Oktoberfest in both Munich and the Bavarian Grill, Bayern Stein Club members and other guests will sit down to a festive bi-monthly dinner to get everyone in the mood for Germany’s traditional party that is fast becoming a worldwide event. The dinner will feature the traditional Bavarian main dish of Boffalomott along with "Kartoffel Knoedel", that's the potato dumpling, and the freshly made "Rotkraut", red cabbage. It’s an old-time feast that goes back to Bavarians looking into the cooking pots of Napoleon's army. Diners also will be able to choose from a variety of German Oktoberfest Biers. The dinner along with two, half-liters of Bier is priced at $29.75, or $24.75 for Stein Club members. This bi-monthly dinner is the first of several events scheduled in September and October at the Bavarian Grill to coincide with the annual Oktoberfest celebration:

Tapping the Keg Will Open Bavarian Grill’s Oktoberfest Celebration Around 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, the “Lord Mayor” of the Bavarian Grill, will tap the first keg of Oktoberfest Bier to launch the restaurant’s one-day celebration the same way that the mayor of Munich earlier in the day officially opened that city’s gigantic party that lasts until early October. You are invited to enjoy the "Freibier", the beer on the house, until that ceremonial keg is empty. If you don’t have plans to fly to Germany, you can come to the Bavarian Grill and enjoy good German food, several German Oktoberfest Biers and some of the same happy German music you would hear in tents at the site of the Munich celebration. Music will be provided by "Die Kleine Blasmusik", the group that plays regularly at the Bavarian Grill. They will perform during the afternoon and then again in the evening in the outdoor Biergarten. Reserved seating is available by calling 972-881-0705. A special buffet will be available in the Bavarian Grill Bankett Stuben for the guests in the indoor and outdoor Biergarten. |

Plans for Oktober Meeting Being Finalized
The Bayern Stein Club’s next bi-monthly meeting will be at 7
p.m., Our plans call for a presentation on the Oktoberfest in Munich accompanied by a variety of tasters of the different Oktoberfest style biers. The Bier that will be available for sampling, along with a selection of appetizers, will be announced early next month, once arrival in Texas has been confirmed. The August meeting, featuring a virtual visit to the Brewery in Aying, was attended by over 30 members, which reflects the increasing participation in meetings and dinners by Stein Club members. At that meeting President Phillip Walden announced that $300 in food and contributions from Stein Club members had been presented to God’s Food Pantry, a Plano organization that helps the needy. |
